Some Impressions of Existentialism

Is existentialism philosophy? In comparison with other branches of philosophy, it feels a little Top 40. It's as if existentialist philosopher's, in an attempt to redress traditional philosophy; have, by attempting to revise the philosophical game, refused to play it.

It feels hard to talk about existential ideas and those of other philosophers. They seem to come at problems from different angles, bypassing debate or dialogue. Is this a philosophical expression of left/right brain dominance? The artist and the mathematician?
